focus of the sound (phasing is a big part of that along w/ placement of components)

direction- idealy from outside of your car left and right and just beyond the dash...
and at ear level

bascially. setting up the speakers to where it will sound best. aka not aimming the speakers at the ground and be expecting to hear anything decent
